Swimming is a very effective way to get in good shape and also ward off those extra calories. It has been seen that regular swimming can help in building amazing muscle strength and endurance. In fact, it is also very good for promoting the cardio-vascular fitness.
I think one of the greatest advantages swimming provides is relief from stress and tension. Your body and mind relaxes in the water and the more time you spend in it the more stress you lose. The reduction of stress will improve your daily life and relationship with people.
When you learn a new skill or change our stroke, you must swim more slowly for a while – before attempting to swim faster. Have a bottle of fluid with you on poolside and sip regularly throughout a training session and leading up to a swimming competition. Maybe Science class wasn’t such a waste of time, after all.
Swimming, more than any other sport demands that your lungs provide the rest of your body with oxygen at an extremely high rate and at exactly the right time (otherwise you’re going to be breathing-in water). Effective breathing (inhaling and exhaling) is critical in turning oxygen into the energy needed to move through the water, keeping correct pH levels in your body and enough carbon dioxide for bodily functions.
Strive for optimum, not maximum, performance. Emphasise the things which you can control (so forget about your boyfriend, husband or significant other). You will enjoy training more if you can see yourself making progress.
There’s no other sport there you won’t feel tired, get rid of tension and stress and see the results so fast. And there’s no danger for traumatizing yourself. You may think as long as you want and search anywhere – swimming has the greatest advantages that sports may give you.
