1、Huaguo Mountain

Hua Guo Mountain, which literally means Flowers and Fruits Mountain, is commonly known as the birthplace and home of the ancient Chinese legendary figure, Monkey King. He is one of the heroes of the Chinese classic novel Journey to the West, written during the Ming Dynasty circa 1500-1582 by Wu Cheng’en. For the Chinese, Monkey King is a symbol of wisdom, courage, strength and loyalty.
Journey to the West is one of the four most famous literary works in Chinese history. It is based upon a true story about a monk named Xuan Zang, who lived in the 7th century during the Tang Dynasty and went on a quest to India by foot to seek the Buddhist sutras. The Monkey King is one of Xuan Zang’s four disciples. With great magical powers, wisdom and strength, he and his three fellow protectors provide support to their master. During their journey the team undergoes eighty-one challenges before finally achieving their goal of obtaining the sutras.
Hua Guo Mountain is located in the Hua Guo Scenic Area, seven kilometers from downtown Lianyungang. Four centuries ago, Wu Cheng’en, author of Journey to the West, came to Lianyungang from his hometown Huai’an, also located in Jiangsu Province. He visited the mountain several times and was charmed by its beautiful scenery. On Jade Goddess Peak, which is the highest point on the mountain, is a large rock measuring five meters high and seven meters wide. In the center of the rock is a crevice that holds an oval-shaped stone that measures one meter long and looks like it is about to fall out at any moment. This rock is where Wu Cheng’en chose to be the birthplace of Monkey King.
There is much to see on the mountain, but the caves are truly memorable. Among the hundreds of caves, Water Curtain Cave is the most notable not only because of its spectacular natural beauty but also because it is featured in Journey to the West as Monkey King’s home. According to the novel, the Monkey King was born out of a rock near Water Curtain Cave where he later lived and played with the other monkeys that reside on the mountain. The mouth of Water Curtain Cave is actually a large crack with has a waterfall cascading over it (like a curtain), and on both sides of the waterfall there are carved inscriptions. Other caves are the Fox Demon Cave, Worm Demon Cave, Two Immortals Cave and General Cave.
Other attractions include the Yunu Peak (Jade Goddess Peak), South Gate of Heaven, and Asoka Pagoda. There are also many strangely shaped rocks that resemble the characters described in the novel, such as the monk Xuan Zang, Pigsy, Friar Sand, Stone Monkey and White Bone Demon.
Jade Goddess Peak is the highest peak on Hua Guo Mountain, and is in fact the highest in the whole of Jiangsu Province. Visitors can watch the sunrise from a pavilion on the peak and view the Sea of Clouds, where the clouds roll in and cover the mountain like waves on the sea. In addition, there are lots of wild monkeys romping around on the peak. But be careful! They are lively and naughty, and you can take photos with them, but keep food carefully hidden, or those greedy monkeys will grab them right out of your hand!
The South Gate of Heaven also refers to the Journey of the West, in that it is said to be the outer door of the Jade Emperor’s Lingxiao Palace in Heaven. Each time the Monkey King encountered difficulties he will enter through this gate and ask for help from the gods.
First built in the Song Dynasty (960 – 1279), Asoka Pagoda in Haiqing Temple is about forty meters (about 131 feet) high. It is the oldest and highest pagoda in existence in northern Jiangsu Province, and has even withstood an 8.5 magnitude earthquake. Asoka was a ruler of the Mauryan Dynasty in the 3rd Century BC, who waged some of the bloodiest wars in Indian history. He was later overcome by remorse for the death and destruction he had unleashed, and went on to become a religious visionary, spreading the word of Buddha.

2、Yuwan Scenic Area

Yuwan Scenic Area, with its green mountains and clear waters, is a place of picturesque charm that is part of the Yuntai Mountain Range of Lianyungang. This region, together with other tourist attractions including the Donglei Stone Sea and Liandao Beach, is a popular place for travelers to enjoy themselves. The simple and honest folk culture combined with the natural beauty of the landscape make Yuwan an attractive tourist destination. Yuwan Scenic Area is filled with many chances to enjoy the wonder of nature, with sites that include quiet gorges, lush forests, gurgling brooks and cascading waterfalls.
During the Qing Dynasty, this area was simply a bay for fishermen to anchor their boats and to shelter them from the wind and waves. It was not only a good harbor to fish but also a place for the bypassing ships to re-stock their supplies of grain and water. It was not until 1668 that a sudden earthquake pushed the coastline into the mountain, resulting in a piece of land jutting out of the water. That land is now Yuwan Scenic Area.
Through years of effort, the Yuwan Scenic Area has become one of the most attractive sites for tourists with its well-protected natural environment. Its waterfalls, natural ponds, caves, running springs, and much more, provide the opportunity for relaxation and entertainment. The waterfall near the Old Dragon Pool is the biggest in Jiangsu Province, with a drop that is almost 40 meters.

东海温泉

3、Donghai Crystal and Hot Spring

Donghai, a city located in the prefecture of Lianyungang, is most well-known in China for two things: hot spring and crystals.
Donghai Hot Springs
The hot springs in Donghai consist of geothermal water that could reach a temperature as high as With well-known hot spring resorts, Donghai has managed to attract thousands of tourists from China and abroad each year. As early as the Ming and Qing dynasties, the hot springs had been renowned throughout China and are still a popular destination today.
Having a hot spring bath is reinvigorating, refreshing, and beneficial to the health. The hot springs are known to be therapeutic and are recommended as treatment for a variety of illnesses relating to the joints, skin and nerves. The springs also help to treat high blood pressure, digestive system trouble, diabetes, and many other illnesses. Donghai’s hot springs contain thirty-two different kinds of minerals, mainly potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and radon.
Donghai Crystals:
Donghai has been known throughout China as a major source of crystal for much of its 2,000-year history, and today is able to produce about 800 tons per year. Donghai crystals range in size from small pieces that fit in the palm of the hand to what is known as the Crystal King, a 3.5-ton monster discovered in 1995.
The crystals, not normally sold in raw form, find their way into consumers’ hands as jewelry, glasses, Buddhist icons and also figures from Chinese history and mythology. They range in price from a few RMB for a small crystal ball or pendant to 36,000 RMB (about 5,000USD) for a statue of Guan Yin. In fact, the transparent covering of Chairman Mao’s tomb is made from Donghai crystal.
Quartz crystal has held a special place in Chinese culture over the centuries. The famous Ming Dynasty physician Li Shizhen claimed in his Compendium of Materia Medica that it held sedative properties and could even bring down a fever.
Only a few blocks away from Donghai’s train station lies the Crystal City, Shuijing Cheng in Mandarin, which is an indoor market built in 1992 that houses the Crystal King near its entrance. The craftspeople who make these crystal products sell to both Chinese and foreign buyers.

Casino City:Las Vegas

TAGS: None

Have you ever heard the big name “Las Vegas”? Yes,it is just the famous casino city you haveheard. Now,i will give you the colourful image of Las Vegas.

Shimmering from the desert haze of Nevada like a latter-day El Dorado, Las Vegas is the most dynamic, spectacular city on earth. At the start of the twentieth century, it didn’t even exist; now it’s home to two million people, and boasts nineteen of the world’s twenty-five largest hotels, whose flamboyant, no-expense-spared casinos lure in thirty-seven million tourists each year.

Las Vegas has been stockpiling superlatives since the 1950s, but never rests on its laurels for a moment. Many first-time visitors expect the city to be kitsch, but the casino owners are far too canny to be sentimental. Yes, there are a few Elvis impersonators around, but what characterizes the city far more is its endless quest for novelty. Long before they lose their sparkle, yesterday’s showpieces are blasted into rubble, to make way for ever more extravagant replacements. A few years ago, when the fashion was for fantasy, Arthurian castles and Egyptian pyramids mushroomed along the legendary Strip; next came a craze for constructing entire replica cities, like New York, Paris, Monte Carlo, and Venice; and the current trend is for high-end properties that attempt to straddle the line between screaming ostentation and “elegant” sophistication.

While the city has cleaned up its act since the early days of Mob domination, it certainly hasn’t become a family destination. Neither is Vegas as cheap as it used to be. It’s still possible to find good, inexpensive rooms, and the all-you-care-to-eat buffets offer great value, but the casino owners have finally discovered that high-rollers happy to lose hundreds of dollars per night don’t mind paying premium prices to eat at top-quality restaurants, while the latest developments are charging room rates of more like $300 than $30 per night.

Although Las Vegas is an unmissable destination, it’s one that palls for most visitors after a couple of (hectic) days. If you’ve come solely to gamble, there’s not much to say beyond the fact that all the casinos are free, and open 24 hours per day, with acres of floor space packed with ways to lose money: million-dollar slots, video poker, blackjack, craps, roulette wheels, and much, much more.

Recommendations

Gambling capital, vacation paradise or premier business destination; these are all definitions of the city that never sleeps. Reality takes a hike when you enter the world of glittering casinos with their 24-hour gambling excitement. The scarcity of clocks adds to the fantasy of those taking time off from the real world. As a family vacation destination, the city offers the ultimate in entertainment for all ages. As a business destination, Las Vegas wins hands down with the volume of facilities and services available for either large conventions or small business get-togethers. Multitudes of upscale eateries are at your fingertips for a business lunch or dinner and after-hours entertainment is plentiful and diverse. Whether you are planning to move here, attend a business meeting, skydive, get married or just relax and enjoy, you will find Las Vegas to be a city like no other in the world.

The fabled three-mile area holds more hotel rooms than any other city in the world. You will find the most famous and remarkable resorts such as Bellagio with its Italian Renaissance aura and Caesars Palace , the glory of Rome, Vegas-style. Old standbys include the Flamingo Hilton and the Mirage , with its white tigers and erupting volcanoes. See the Paris Las Vegas with outstanding replicas of the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and magnifique Parisian atmosphere and charm. Treasure Island offers daily live pirate battles, free of charge. The new Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is also an impressive hotel with a nice casino. At the “bottom” or south end of the strip, risen from the ashes of the Hacienda Hotel, now stands the magnificent Mandalay Bay with its tropical atmosphere and a pool with waves you can actually surf. At the top of the Strip, you will find the Stratosphere Tower visible from miles away. It is the highest free-standing building in the western half of the United States, with views from the top that are indescribable.

Fremont Street

The original Las Vegas, where people hung out in the ’30s and early ’40s, is still thriving, but with a new face known as the Fremont Street Experience . Some tourists actually prefer this area to the Strip because room prices are generally lower, it’s an easy walk from one casino to the next and it’s reminiscent of the early, nostalgic days of Las Vegas. In addition, there are famous hotels such as The Plaza (formerly known as Union Plaza), overlooking Fremont Street, and the classic Golden Nugget . For nostalgia buffs, there is also the Golden Gate Hotel Casino , renovated to its earlier classic glory and appearance and still famous for the 99-cent shrimp cocktail.

Once a vast wasteland of buffets, Las Vegas has come of age in dining and drinking. Added to the list of celebrities are some of the top names in the culinary world. Visitors now have their choice of fine dining experiences, both on and off the strip.

Downtown

Downtown Las Vegas has both historical and new restaurants. Although you’ll still have to deal with the crowds, the prices will be more reasonable than on the Strip. If you want casual fine dining Second Street Grille is a great place to have American cuisine. Grotto Ristorante at the Golden Nugget Hotel Casino is an Italian restaurant that uses only the freshest ingredients. Binion’s Ranch Steak House is the perfect place to have quality steak or seafood, make sure you try the Chicken Fried Lobster. If you just want a snack head to Sidebar , it was voted the best martini in Las Vegas and has great fried calamari.

Outside the City

If you need a break from hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas you can find the real deals outside the city. Go to Amigo’s Mexican Cantina for a Mexican meal paired with a margarita. Gold Rush Cafe is a family friendly restaurant with reasonable prices. If you want an all-you-can-eat option try the international buffet is the Feast Around the World Buffet , located a little ways outside the city at the Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino .

Las Vegas may be known as the “Sin City,” but it has a lot of great attractions. Certainly, the casinos and nightlife are what bring visitors here, but there so much more to do. There are several historic and interesting sites, that are perfect for guided or self-guided tours.

Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam is one of Nevada’s proudest possessions. It displaces the Colorado River and creates Lake Mead , a large man-made waterway. You’ll find a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants found within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area . At night, try the Lake Mead Cruise for dinner and dancing, as well as beautiful scenery. There is even a nearby theater, the Regal Boulder Station , that shows contemporary films.

Fremont Street Experience

In the center of downtown on Fremont Street is the Fremont Street Experience . Along the Fremont Street Experience is the Neon Museum is where you can enjoy historic Las Vegas neon signs. Close by is the City of Las Vegas Fire Department where children can have free guided tours of the fire department. If you get hungry, then head to Grotto Ristorante or Roberta’s Cafe and Steakhouse .

Beautiful Miami!

How do you know about Miami? The famous NBA player Wade,James, the film Miami Vice.Besides that,i will introduce more about Miami travel.

Even after a century of existence, Miami still has the feel of a place that went up last night. From the beginning, climate and geography-sultry air, lush tropical vegetation, the glistening waters of Biscayne Bay-have dictated the character and demeanor of this languid, sexy city devoted to pleasure, one far more Latin American/Caribbean than North American in tone. Today’s Miami, full of sophisticated hotels, restaurants, museums, and architecture, may be America’s most modern metropolis: unfettered by historical baggage, eminently multicultural, and always up for trying something new.

Recommendations

Miami’s cultural diversity is apparent from the moment you set foot on its soil and hear the rise and fall of a dozen different languages being spoken. It is an easygoing beach town, a refugee camp, and a 24-hour party all at once.

Miami Beach

When talking about Miami, the beach is the best place to start. In the 1940s, when vacationers began to arrive, Miami Beach was the center of the action. Although years have passed and times have changed, the beach remains a perennial hot spot. Enormous luxury resorts such as Fontainebleau and Eden Roc rise majestically against the skyline. Shops and restaurants line the streets, and who could forget the miles of white sand beach?

South Beach

Once home to a number of retired citizens and starving artists, South Beach has now risen to international fame as a popular vacation destination. Every block is packed with restaurants, bars, shops, and – of course – dance clubs, each trendier, more glamorous and cutting-edge than the last. One could spend days soaking in the sights and sounds of South Beach . Take a walking tour along Ocean Drive or down Lincoln Road, where the beautiful people come out to play. Whether it’s three in the morning or three in the afternoon, there is bound to be plenty to do.

Miami takes its dining scene very seriously. People come from all over the world to drink and dine in this sunny city by the Atlantic Ocean. Restaurants range from South American to Continental to Caribbean, while the local fusion cuisine known as “Floribbean” borrows influences from all three regions.

Many of the city’s restaurants specialize in fresh, local seafood. Swordfish, yellowtail, lobster and oysters have a place on most menus. In the autumn and winter, stone crab season takes over. At restaurants such as the legendary Joe’s Stone Crab , people wait for hours to enjoy the delicious crustaceans.

Many of Miami’s eateries represent countries and regions of Latin and South America. Brazilian rodizio, Argentine churrasco and Peruvian seafood are just a few of the ethnic specialties local restaurants dish out. Dozens of Cuban eateries serve filling, tasty meals at a considerably low price.

Whether you’re looking for a cheap and filling meal, a gourmet Italian feast or a night among the stars, you can find it in one of the districts of this splendidly diverse city.

Downtown Miami

Downtown Miami is popular with businesspeople and other locals. Nightlife is nonexistent, but there’s a flourishing restaurant scene. The various steakhouses serve delicious food with a local twist. Monserrate has South American dishes on its menu, and specializes in steak, while Soyka has American classics like burgers and fries. For those looking for something out of the ordinary in Miami, try the German restaurant Edelweiss .

Key Biscayne

Key Biscayne’s restaurants have a different feel from any other part of Miami – or any other part of the world. The dining establishments are characteristically laid-back and informal; most of the time, they open and close when they choose and menus can change daily. Grab fish and fries at a local spot and then venture over to Sundays on the Bay for a frozen drink. The Rusty Pelican has classic American cuisine and a brunch on Sundays. For Italian, stop at Stefano’s where traditional Italian dishes such as Quail can be found.

Whether you spend the day tanning on the beach or discovering the various shops and cultural attractions, there’s plenty to do in Miami.

Coral Gables

Coral Gables is well-known for the Venetian Pool , which was formed from a coral rock quarry in 1923. Take a dip in the pool in the early afternoon, when the heat of the day is at its peak. Grab a bite to eat at the cafe, then dry off, clean up, and head over to the Biltmore Hotel . The Biltmore is both a designated national historic landmark and a five-star luxury hotel. Dine at La Palme d’Or .

Miracle Mile

Wander down the Miracle Mile , where there is always a big event taking place. Jazz lovers should stop by the Satchmo Blues Bar & Grill, while theater fans can see what’s playing at the Actors Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre . Ortanique is one of the most famous restaurants on this strip.

Florida Keys

Just south of Miami are a string of islands called the Florida Keys, connected by one main highway. Waters are crystal clear and the sea life is amazing. Coral Castle is an incredible work of art that took 28 years to finish. Browse the different trees and buy some preserves at the nearby Fruit and Spice Park . Dine at the Main Street Cafe . Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park , located across the way on the mainland, are two of Florida’s most unique. Not far from the Everglades is the Black Point Marina , popular among those that fish and sail.
